Dagmara Horab (born in 1973) lives and works in Łódź. She has graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. She creates small sculpture objects and experiments with her favourite media: epoxide resin and plaster. She combines terse narration with unusual technical solutions. She depicts fragile creatures encapsulated and safe from the influence of the outside world – human figures and faces covered with thick, transparent matter. Inaccessible, isolated figures associate with borderline situations concerning body: sleep, hibernation, foetal life and death. They impersonate the question about the possibilities and the limitations of the human body as a shelter for our identity.
